Introduction

Hi Everyone. My name is John. I’m a 48 year old classical guitar enthusiast living in North East England (UK). I am hoping to post here details of events happening in the area, info on books, music etc connected to classical guitar playing and to sound out interest in forming a classical guitar society in the Tynedale area. I am not a great player but enjoy it. Currently working towards my Grade 5 exam. I like most classical and flamenco guitar music, but find some more modern pieces a bit less appealing. Having said that, I have just bought Gary Ryan’s latest CD and it is fantastic! Highly recommended. I have also just listened to Craig Ogden’s latest release, ‘The Guitarist’. This has a mixture of old standard repertoire pieces and new pieces and  is very enjoyable.
