I am a happy camper and still very much a beginner. While I might think myself as a young fella, my hands and brain indicate otherwise. Practice for me is a necessary lonely activity over many hours. I like Uli’s BBF suggestion and agree with Diane’s support. I think it will provide an excellent peer support group which will encourage…[Read more]
Thanks for reply
I’ll give Dave a bit of time because I know he’s always responsive
Thought it was something I had missed and I think it would be useful “one source” practice item
I want a copy of the scales material can I access them for a digital download and if so how. I couldn’t find a link for a free download like the other her course materials. Of course since I am old codger I may have missed the link.
If it is hard copy only then I am happy to order and pay
Thanks for sharing USCGBuffalo
It’s good advice from the team – and has given me something to think about as well as I am not as advanced along as yourself – sounds like you work to a plan and will improve each take
Happy New Year mate – your good wife has the same sense of humour as my better half but she does have to listen to my efforts
Happy New Year to CGC Team and fellow members from Australia
Looking forward to the new year and completing year 1 certificate
Thanks to all fellow members who are braver than I and contribute regularly to group
Thankyou for sharing Dave
I love Bach and I love your arrangement and passionate playing
Being able to enjoy this piece and other contributions that appear on a regular basis on this site by members and staff help remind me how good life is
With such good music I wouldn’t be dead for quids (read dollars) 😇
I like your playing and especially your positive approach and willingness to share
I find your comments and encouragement you give to others very helpful
Thanks for sharing Joan, I liked your play although I am not an expert – what I really like about this group and the real value of this course is the sound (no pun intended) advice you receive from the experts including ourselves when we record and replay our efforts.
It’s the best sort of learning – we learn are motivated by each other at…[Read more]
I like your playing and your attitude to life and the guitar
Thankyou for sharing – I am somewhat behind you in my expertise in playing the guitar and you have provided me a good role model.
I agree with the comments of Paul in maintaining an interest in life and self actualisation.
No point in living long if you can’t keep on learning.
Thank you Simon and participants for very informative and interesting live cast. Especially to those who performed live for all our benefit and to receive excellent expert feedback from Simon. I found the broadcast very motivating and I especially took on board Simon’s instruction on a specific learning techniques.
I look forward to future live…[Read more]

I am probably a bit late in responding to help you but I thought I should kept you know about a microphone I bought for my iPad.
It is brand called “Shure” who produce MV51 USB microphone. It comes with a lightning connector which plugs direct into iPad which I place on a music stand. I think it is better than standard iPad recording…[Read more]
Thanks a John – I must admit that I thought if I put OPM in my message, no one would know who I was talking about – perhaps a new Rap group
Look forward to chatting as we go – also you are right, I am no chicken as I will be 3 score and 10 ne t year.
I am very happy to join this student group. I have wanted to learn guitar since a teenager when I was a great little fan of folk music including Dylan, Peter-Paul and Mary, and several Anglo-Irish-Aussie traditional folk music. I see no reason to limt my life to listening to music now that I have the time to learn and perform on the guitar…[Read more]
