Hi Top, congratulation on passing Level One. I enjoyed your playing quite a bit. Your colorations were great.
Hi Robt, I’ve been using the Ergo I think it’s called. I’ve liked it as its was better than my experiences with the Dynette cushion support. I’ll look into the Barnett support. I’ve been patching the Ergo as the pad had slipped, then totally come off and yes, the suction cups do fail. Though I may just continue tinkering as the ergo has the two…[Read more]
Lissa replied to the topic [Simon] What would you like to see next? (and some new lessons) in the forum Simon Says [Site Updates and Announcements] 1 week, 4 days ago
HI Simon, I’d like, in addition to a lesson on developing a motif, I’d like lessons in marking up a score, a lesson on various notations and shorthand markings, a lesson on memory and memorization, and lastly, chord identification in a piece and how that can help in writing, sight reading, memorization and playing and whatever else.
And one last…[Read more]
Well, Linda, that was wonderful. I can tell you my feeling but not technical things, in comparison… The ebb and flow of the first section as Scott mentioned lulled me into a serene happy state which made the next strophe (I may be using this incorrectly), much more dramatic! (Isn’t it a key Change too?).
As we talked earlier, it was more “moody”…[Read more]

Great accomplishment Scott, thanks so much for sharing, as others have said, there is so much there to inform my own playing.

Thanks Tim, it’s good to hear the hurdles successful people have overcome.
Thanks for the resources.
Hi David, I really appreciate what you’ve given here, the information is going to have to sink in as I work to understand and apply it. I’ve gotten it printed and have it on-hand when I study. It’s exciting and fascinating!
With much thanks,

Hi Andre, I’ll look forward to your return then!
Best of everything,
Dr, when you say synthesis what is the meaning? I’m thinking it’s taking a short idea from a known piece as a starting point to write something original, and I’m sure it’s really not that at all. (Mind you, I’ve had little formal training).
Could you say a bit more about analysis of a composition through form but especially development. I think…[Read more]
Well Hooray Marten, it was nicely played. I agree too about the color, and think the tempo was really nice, flawless on those tricky parts link Linda said.
Thanks for placing the bar there!
Hi Barry, quite a bit of progress, sounding good. In the section where it shifts up, Simon uses that piece in the Extensions lesson, that might help there with the bump.
Keep up the good work!
Thanks Paul, that was great and it’s coming along. It’s an interesting piece, I’m no scholar but I hear hints of different styles. A fast tempo helps shape the ideas. Is that how you feel about it? Pieces similar which I’ve attempted before having the skill didn’t pull together until I acquired the right tempo.
This is my first time hearing this…[Read more]
