In this week’s episode of The Classical Guitar Corner Podcast, Simon sits down for a conversation and a bit of Q&A with Academy member Roger Ramirez. They get into all sorts of things, like Roger’s ensemble group Divergent Strings (which recently had its arena debut…no kidding!) and Ramirez guitars (no familial relation to Roger). We hope you enjoy! Leave a comment to thank Roger for his comments and insights, sharing his story, and inspiring us all!

This brought a smile to my day.
Great conversation with Roger. I wish him all the best in accomplishing his goals. I make it no secret I am a fan of how CGC members get to see real time progress of its members.
It is an honor to see all he has done and I look forward to witness his work in the years to come.
    Go Roger!

Another great podcast! Thank you for sharing your story, Roger. Sounds like you’re living your dream. You certainly are a huge part of CGC; you were quick to welcome me when I joined a few months ago and I always enjoy reading your many comments, and tips. You’re very generous, and a cheer leader for all of us who are just beginning. Don’t give up on the idea of school; I finished a master’s degree at age 54 (I wish mine had been music!). I think that, for you, it would be a labor of love!

Thank you for another very special podcast. As a member of CGC, I am an avid reader of Roger’s progress journal. It was interesting to hear more about his background…and his touching story of how he came to start learning classical guitar.

Just caught up with this podcast, Roger — and I share the enthusiasm of the other comments. Your progress journal and your sincerity and love for the path of learning and music helps to keep me and others, I would suspect, mindful of the wonder of the guitar. Looking forward to more installments!

Roger was one of the first to welcome me last October when I joined CGC. My classical guitar is a Ramirez student edition and Roger mentioned that he was interested in getting one as well so we had a common interest right from the start. Happy you followed up and purchased one Roger! Roger also helped me when I messed up my Level 1 preliminary submission upload to YouTube at the end of January. I’m so very grateful to you. Great podcast guys. Really enjoyed the conversation.

Thank you for the wonderful interview. Roger’s story is loving and resonant. The two of you raise ideas we aspire to, practicing with purpose, having fantasies to grow with and life long learning. I am touched by Roger’s story of his brother. Roger is impressively active as a family man, a computer programmer and a musician. Well done!
