I am down in Australia now, and the first performance I had was the same day I arrived from New York! I was a little concerned about being ‘out of it’ for the concert, especially since the 24hrs on the plane means no practice at all. I had a pretty hefty program with the Chaconne, Brouwer Sonata, Bagatelles, Libra Sonatine and some Albeniz, so I decided to go with music to prevent almost inevitable memory slips. The concert went really well, all things considered, and I actually didn’t feel too tired. I guess the adrenaline kicked in and pushed me through.
The next stop will be Adelaide, where I have a house concert and also some teaching at Adelaide University. I have a couple of days spare, so I might even get into the wine region!!
